A security guard assigned at Banana
plantation in South Cotabato, identified as Melchor Galamagang was killed when
(NPA) or New People’s Army stormed the said banana plantation in Tampakan on
the night of August 4, 2015.
According to the report, the victim
suffered multiple gunshot wounds in his body, and died later on while moving on
the way to the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital.
On the other hand, 5 soldiers were also wounded when communist rebels fired at a detachment positioned near on the said banana plantation.
Lt. Col. Ronald Jess Alcudia the Battalion commander of 27th Infantry Battalion, told news reporter that additional government troops has been deployed to Tampakan to secure banana plantation facility.
