If you are vacationers and spent all your days in the hotel, please find below the lists of some tips to be remember for your safety and security.
Locate all the fire exits, elevators and public phones.
Do not open your doors for strangers. Use the security view point to see who is outside your door. Do not trust someone claiming to be a hotel employee if you are not expecting one. If you are unsure, call the front desk to check. Leave the security chain engaged while opening the door for further protection.
Keep the door of your room locked at all times. If you are inside the room, turn the deadbolt and fasten the security chain.
When you leave your hotel room, pull the door completely closed behind you. Make sure the latch has engaged. Take a moment before you leave to try the door and make sure it is closed and locked.
Check all windows and doors in your room every time you enter it and leave it to make sure they are closed and locked.
When returning to your hotel late in the evening, be aware of your surroundings, stay in well lighted areas, and use the main entrance.
Call the front desk to verify unexpected deliveries, room service, or room repairs.
If traveling with children, provide adult supervision and know their whereabouts at all times.
Place all your valuables in the hotel safety deposit box and get a written receipt for what you store. Be sure to confirm that the hotel's insurance will cover your items if stolen.
If you lose or misplace your key, notify the front desk immediately.
Avoid riding alone in elevators with strangers. Ask the hotel desk for an escort or ride when there are more people in the elevator.
Be sure that your room has a double lock, a chain lock and a regular door lock. Make sure you use all of them before going to sleep. Use the safety deposit box provided in the room to store your keys, wallets, extra cash and credit cards, and other valuables items.
Don't leave cash, traveler's checks and expensive electronic gadgets lying around the room.
If you see any suspicious activity notify the hotel operator or hotel security
Secure contact numbers of nearest police, fire and hospital in the area.
